Tips

  • Store honey at room temperature. Refrigerating honey will cause crystallization (where liquid honey becomes solid)
  • When substituting honey for table sugar in recipes, begin by substituting honey for up to half of the sugar called for in the recipe
  • When baking with honey, reduce oven temperature by 25 deg.F to prevent over-browning
  • Because of honey's high fructose content, it is sweeter than table sugar, taking less honey to sweeten a dish than sugar
  • If your honey crystallizes, simply place bottle in a bowl of hot water, stirring to dissolve crystals
  • When measuring honey, coat the measuring cup with non-stick cooking spray or vegetable oil before adding the honey. The honey will slide right out
